Huawei's sub-brand Honor on Thursday launched the lite version of company's popular Honor 8 smartphone. It is powered by the Kirin 960 SoC clocked at 2.4GHz Quad-Core processor with Mali G71 Octa-core GPU and packs a whopping 6GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB.

Honor launched its latest smartphone under the flagship Honor 8 series- Honor 8 Lite. There are also reports that the blue variant will also sell by the end of this month. As the name itself suggests, the device is a smaller variant of the popular Honor 8, which has a dual camera at the back.

The Honor 8 Lite comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, the same combination that the Honor 8 had, and with the build as well, there are some similarities. Apart from skipping the dual camera setup, the Honor 8 Lite looks similar to Honor 8 with the 2.5D curved glass laid on front and back of the device. Honor is offering 64GB of storage which can be further expanded using a microSD card. The Honor 8 Lite was unveiled in February this year in a press event in China.

The Honor 8 Lite will be available in Premium Black colour initially, followed up by blue colour later this month, and will be available for purchase from 12th May 2017 at a MOP of INR 17,999 across all Honor partner stores pan-Indian.

With its Wifi Bridge feature, Honor 8 Lite can be used to connect up to four devices.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. P Sanjeev, Vice President- Sales, Huawei India Consumer Business Group said "The Honor 8 Lite is set to revolutionise the sub-20K segment". A 3000mAh battery completes the package.

Running Android 7.0 Nougat with the company's EMUI 5.0 skin on top, the device features a 12MP rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The 8 Lite is a refreshing change from the current selfie offing that run on outdated chipsets; and provides users a device that is awe-inspiring both in looks and performance. It comes with fingerprint scanner on its back side. The handset measures 147.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams.
